The King Millenium II is an aluminium catamaran built in Australia in 1995 and refurbished in 2007 specifically for surf charters.

She's faster than most boats operating in the region, with a cruising speed of 12-15 knots. Being a catamaran, she's also more stable than a mono hull and also safer. And with 4 triple share a/c cabins that each have their own TV and DVD player you'll be able to fully relax in between sessions. And if you're not already feeling like a rock star, then take the jet ski* out for a spin! Trips are to the Mentawais, Telos, Nias and beyond! 

The King Millenium 2 has plenty of interior and exterior space to relax in. And whats more is that you can expect a great nights sleep. Catamarans are renowned to be far more sturdy thanks to their double hull that reduce "swaying" when anchored up. Not only will you have a better nights sleep than the majority of other charter guests in the region (that are staying aboard a mono hull) - but you'll probably get less seas sick too.

The catamaran also features a large interior living room with large couch, a plasma screen TV, DVD, Wii gaming console and a home cinema system.

There are also several exterior chill areas to relax in. The main exterior deck, at the back of the boat is the main spot to relax in and the deck below is where your meals are served. At the front of the boat there are 2 additional decks with seating.

3 large, healthy delicious meals are served each day. A mix of Indonesian and Western/European cuisine served for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Vegetarians can be catered for with prior notice.

A variety of snacks are also served in between meals. Each serving is based around fresh local produce such as fish, fruit, vegetables, pasta and meat. Guests are entitled as many fresh fruit juices, soft drinks and bottled water as they want within a reasonable limit.

The package includes 2 daily beers; all extra beers are paid at local prices.

The Crew of The King Millennium 2 has many years of experience in surf charters. All the crew speak English and treat the guests such that they feel at home. David and Poti have more than 20 years of experience in the Mentawai and Telo islands. They also speak several languages fluently (French, English, Spanish, Bahasa Indonesia and Portuguese).

What’s included:

* The boat trip, 11 surfing days, 12 nights

* Snorkelling gear, visits to the islands and fishing gear

* Extra costs due to delayed surf boards

* Personal travel insurance for accidents, injuries and medical costs (highly recommended)
* Indonesian departure tax fee at the airport
* Mentawai Surf Tax. 80Usd to be paid on arrival in Padang. Mentawai government will provide a bracelet to each surfer
* Other meals except as specified above
* Alcoholic beverages (available on board at extra cost)
* Transport to Padang in case of emergency (travel insurance mandatory). 
* Digital photographic and video coverage (see below).

Local photo & video packages are USD 200 for photos and 200 USD for videos. Both together USD 300.
If professional photographer is on board prices are USD 300 for photos and USD 200 for video. Together, both services will cost USD 400.



Conditions of use of the jet ski:

USD 2000 for the full trip or USD 200 per day

* Only the guide can authorize its use depending on sea and weather conditions.
* Unless the client is a seasoned jet ski user (by the guide standards), it will not be used individually.

The jet ski will be used for:

* Getting closer to the breaks
* Photographers and cameramen
* Short cruises near the boat
* Tow-in. In this case the guides will decide in which spot it can be used depending on crowds and safety.

The boat has an additional dinghy (tender) to ferry guests to the waves and to the neighbouring islands as well as a jet-ski (extra cost). The bridge is equipped with a satellite phone, GPS, sonar, radar, USB and a 16 channel radio. The boat is fitted with an EPIRB , flares, life jackets and a life raft for 22 people.

Note: Satellite phone is available for emergency use only. If guests want to use it for any other reason, you will be charged. Please note, some areas of the region have mobile signal. Furthermore, some surf resorts have internet access and occasionally it will be possible to use their facilities.

When booking a trip aboard the King Millenium 2, guests will have the chance to surf either the Mentawai Islands (the whole region) – or further north to the Telo Islands (as well as parts of the Northern Mentawai) as well as The Banyak Islands (plus fuel surcharge). If you’re booking a large group then you’ll usually get to choose which region. Smaller groups and single surfers should enquire as to which region the charter will be heading to.

Guests need to fly into Padang Airport, West Sumatra 

Arrival into Padang by (latest) 1pm.

The boat departs at 6pm.  Departure flights should be from 1pm (onwards) on the last day of the trip.

Flights 

We recommend using www.skyscanner.com and flying into either Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - or Jakarta, Indonesia.  From KL, there is usually one morning flight (1hr) with Air Asia  as well as a lunchtime flight to Padang.  From Jakarta, there are over a dozen flights each day that fly into Padang, from airlines such as Garuda Airlines, Srwijaya, Citilink  & Lion Air. Arrive Padang airport by 1pm.

One of our staff will be waiting to take you to the harbor.

Depart harbour 6pm, arrive Mentawai Islands early the next morning.

Note: The trip has no fixed route as the surf conditions can change day to day. Our experienced crew are always aware of the swell forecast and will update everybody each day to discuss the next move. The captain will usually change location during the night, leaving the opportunity for the guests to enjoy most of the day surfing.
